The most important part of our department is the staff who work to support and keep safe the juveniles in our care all across the commonwealth! So THANK YOU to everyone who helps keep our gears turning! It's because of you that we are making a real difference.

Family is one of the most important things in a persons life. And with the support of family, we are able to grow stronger. This is why we encourage family visits, and many of our facilities offer virtual visitation to make easier for families to connect with their loved ones. We are all in this together, no matter how far apart we may be.

One of the most important topics we teach is how to deal with complex emotions. To accomplish this, many facilities utilize the Support, Train, Empower, Protect, Serve program. This program teaches our juveniles important behavioral health information, and is an invaluable resource for us here at the department. Rehabilitation is possible, and we work every day to provide the juveniles in our facilities with all the tools they need to achieve it! Working hard today to become a better person tomorrow is one of our core responsibilities, and it is not one we take lightly!
