In a service area where 75 percent of distribution lines are threatened by trees and vegetation located outside the right of way (ROW), a robust vegetation management program is necessary. A special line of work: Happy #NationalLinemanAppreciationDay to all of our lineworkers! This day has us thinking about all our line crews do outside of keeping the power flowing to our homes and businesses. In fact, our linemen can often be found out in the community educating students about electrical safety and sharing details about their jobs at high school career fairs. Our lineworkers volunteer to assist local communities in various events and requests for their service - doing the things only they can do. Recently, our linemen were invited to Frankfort to represent lineworkers across the state for the signing of a resolution recognizing the importance of what they do for us every day. They take care of each other, and they keep their safety and the safety of the public at the forefront of all they do. Kentucky Power lineworkers are also most kind and humble. They work hard, and we are all grateful to benefit from their service. Thank you for all you do, Lineworkers! #ThankALineworker

We’re looking forward to a new chapter for American Electric Power with incoming President & CEO Bill Fehrman.
Bill Fehrman, who will take over as AEP's president and CEO in August, chatted with CCO Chris Brathwaite, Board Chairman Sara Martinez Tucker and Interim President and CEO Ben Fowke this morning during a webcast for employees. He listed safety and our customers as his top priorities. “I’ve spent my entire career in the energy business, and I’m honored to join a renowned industry leader like AEP during a pivotal time for the organization and our industry,” he said.
