Hurricane Beryl recently swept through Houston and surrounding areas, causing significant damage and displacing residents, leaving 1.3 million without power, shelter, and basic necessities. The funds donated by Kia America will help aid the American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region in delivering vital resources, including emergency shelter, food, water, and medical care to those impacted by the hurricane. We are excited to announce our new collaboration with National Geographic Society through the Wayfinder Award presented by Kia. Through this initiative, we will be able to fund 45 explorers over the next three years. Recipients of this year’s award include projects that champion voices in public education, push the boundaries of deep space exploration, and tackle misinformation by building trust in scientists through workshops. Our philanthropic support of the awards aligns with our Accelerate the Good initiative, which has helped provide over $30 million in funding to various charities and nonprofit organizations since 2019. Through this collaboration, we hope to play an impactful role in accelerating the good that these individuals are doing across their respective fields.
