🏆 Lynne Avadenka | 2009 Kresge Artist Fellow Lynne received a National Endowment for the Humanities award, with two project partners, Barbara Mann (Case Western Reserve University) and Shani Avni (Cary Graphic Arts Collection of the Rochester Institute of Technology). Feeling incredibly humbled to be named a 2024 Gilda Snowden Emerging Artist Award winner in music performance by Kresge Arts In Detroit! A huge congrats to my fellow Gilda Awardees and the 2024 Kresge Artist Fellows! This hits different, because in 1972, my father and his brothers, young watchmakers from Amman, Jordan, came to America and landed a contract with the very same SS Kresge Co. to repair and service watches. It’s a full-circle moment, proving that artistic dreams can truly span generations.
