During the fellowship, participants receive entrepreneurial training and access to world-class facilities and expertise at one of four US national laboratories (Argonne National Laboratory, Berkeley Lab, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory). The webinar will present information about the program to potential applicants interested in joining LEEP’s 2025 Cohort, which opens for application Sept. 4. The webinar will provide potential applicants with an overview of LEEP and an opportunity to ask questions regarding the program and how to apply. Tropical cyclones that come into contact with coastal areas can be among the most destructive natural hazards on Earth – and according to researchers from Berkeley Lab, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and collaborating institutions, they're becoming more intense over time. Using NERSC's Perlmutter supercomputer, the team identified climatic triggers that are contributing to the shift and used models to consider possible future scenarios, a step toward preparing coastal communities for what may be to come.
