It is hard to believe that exactly one week ago Class XI of Leadership Tennessee's Signature Program convened in Buchanan, TN, for their Opening Retreat at the Lodge at Paris Landing. During this time, the class forged strong connections while tackling issues of state significance and analyzing key data from various Tennessee counties. A special shout out to the Tennessee Farm Bureau, Tosh Farms/Tosh Pork/Bacon by Gosh, and the OBION COUNTY JOINT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION for leading a robust conversation on the impact of agriculture in the state of Tennessee. We were also fortunate to have several LT Founders, Board Members, and LT Alumni in attendance for the Opening Reception. Class X (“The PERFECT 10”) of Leadership Tennessee’s Signature Program recently had a 24-hour immersive experience in Chattanooga, TN. They engaged Chattanooga and Hamilton County’s amazing historian, explored the role of the arts in urban development, discussed entrepreneurship and government, delved into AI’s future in the workforce, toured a Tennessee Valley Authority site, learned how Hamilton County continues to address educational needs, and listened to Chattanooga’s ongoing redevelopment story. Highlights included leadership lessons from former U.S. Senator Bob Corker. Next stop is Closing Retreat in West Tennessee!

The Board of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Assocation (TICUA) convened to host the 68th TICUA Annual Meeting of the Presidents in Nashville, TN. The topic was “Improving Lives and Anchoring Communities”. Leadership Tennessee Signature Program Alumni Members were represented spanning from Class I to Class X. Kudos to Claude Pressnell (SP Class I) for his unwavering dedication and advocacy for independent colleges in Tennessee.
