🦪 🎉 Annual End of Summer Clambake Cookout!   Last week, we wrapped up our final Summer Cookout Series event in style with our Annual Clambake.   Hosted by our very own CEO/President, Chip Marous, who personally baked the clams, the day was filled with fun, food, and great company. We enjoyed delicious clams, chicken, corn, refreshing drinks, an ice cream truck, and of course, some healthy competition with our Cornhole Tournament!    From games to socializing, it was a blast from start to finish. 🏗️ Design/Build Progress In Our Own Backyard With our corporate headquarters in Willoughby, OH, we love the opportunity to work close to home! Marous Brothers Construction was proud to be selected as the Design/Builder by BRO-JAC ENTERPRISES LLC for their project in Willoughby’s Lost Nation Business Park. The original 3,000 sq. ft. office and 14,800 sq. ft. warehouse couldn’t keep up with their growing business. Now, construction is almost complete on a 16,000 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building addition, seamlessly connecting to the existing warehouse! Our Site Group was subcontracted to handle the land clearing, excavation, grading, and creation of a retention pond for stormwater management. As a part of the project, our Design/Build Group also designed and installed an additional loading dock, accessible entry, and improved site entrances. A special shoutout goes to two of our teams’ craftsmen who have demonstrated excellence in their craft: 🏆 Carpentry & Interior Finishes Group: Jon Sangdahl, a Journeyman Carpenter with Central Midwest Carpenter’s Local # 435, was awarded for Exterior Siding Installation at Woodhill Station West. 🏆 Site Group: An Operating Engineer with Local # 18 was recognized for Athletic Field Grading & Drainage System Installation at Wilson Stadium at Kirtland Local Schools. 💡 Did You Know? ☑ Marous Brothers Construction Craftsmen have been winning these types of awards since 1991, the first year we entered the competition. ☑ To date, skilled tradespeople in our Site Group have been recognized for their extraordinary efforts on 5 different projects. ☑ With our roots as a Carpenter Contractor, 41 individual craftsmanship awards have now been presented to Carpenters, Tapers, and Finishers in our Carpentry & Interior Finishes Group for their outstanding work on projects throughout the region. 🏗️ Project Update: Peninsula Apartments Site Work In January 2023, our Site Group broke ground on extensive site work for NRP Group’s Peninsula Apartments, transforming a long-neglected 7.5-acre stretch of Cleveland’s Scranton Peninsula. This project, the first of two in the area, will introduce over 600 homes and welcome upwards of 1,000 residents to this once-abandoned industrial site. Our Site Group played a crucial subcontracted role, handling clearing, site demolition, erosion control, grading, excavation, underground utilities, and constructing retaining walls. We also provided pedestrian right-of-way grading for staircases and sidewalks—a key feature in revitalizing pedestrian access & usability for the area. As we wrap up our work, including courtyard drainage around the outdoor pool, the Scranton Peninsula Master Plan continues to take shape, blending residential neighborhoods, public spaces, and an ever-expanding park with a trail system along the Cuyahoga River. #ConstructionUpdate #SiteGroup #ClevelandRevitalization #ScrantonPeninsula #ConstructionExcellence #OurFutureIsBuilding
