Today is #InternationalDogDay! We bring you some of our favorite furry faces from the marketing department, but also have a special introduction to make. Help us give a big, slobbery, tail-wagging welcome to our newest therapy-dog-to-be, Sophie! Sophie is a Bernedoodle who was born on the fourth of July, which makes her a yankee doodle doodle 😂. She loves her fruits and veggies, and splits a banana with her human Jamie every morning.

Congratulations to Stafford Hospital for earning the designation as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by The Joint Commission! Our team has been working diligently to create a dedicated stroke-focused program, train staff, and acquire the necessary equipment to diagnose and treat strokes swiftly and effectively.

Today was a big day for our Project SEARCH interns—they got their official badges! We're so excited to see what amazing skills they'll learn this year, and even more excited for what we will learn from them. Join us in congratulating Rebecca Coleman, Mary Washington Hospital DAISY Award winner 🌼! Rebecca started her journey at Snowden at Fredericksburg as a new grad in 2021 and has since become one of our strongest nurses. Rebecca started a group committee focused on improving the amount and quality of group activities the patients are offered, including a “HUSH” hour where the sensory input for the unit is lowered, and meditation is encouraged; the committee also created and implemented unit schedules to help guide the day and give patients an idea of what to expect. She regularly performs more group activities than any other nurse, and serves as a charge nurse or preceptor almost every shift she works because she is so exceptional at her job. She cares so deeply about our patients and ensures they have the best experience possible and get the most out of their stay while they are here.
