We transformed our ground-based technology to support our new WorldView Legion satellites. We had the help of a few trusted partners to accomplish the task:    💻 Raytheon helped us develop next-generation software that can process larger data streams more efficiently and seamlessly. The Lhasa Gonggar Airport in Tibet is one of the highest airports in the world, located at an elevation of 3,600 meters (11,800 ft). This WorldView Legion image demonstrates the value of 30 cm-class imagery. In the parking lot and surrounding areas, individual cars and pedestrian access points can clearly be identified along with other fine details for mapping applications. The interior shows the trees, bridges and resting areas for passengers. Another launch success! Our third and fourth WorldView Legion satellites are performing well after launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station earlier this morning. They are receiving and sending signals, and they will now undergo the commissioning process, with first images expected soon. These are the first Maxar satellites launched into mid-inclination orbit (MIO), meaning they will orbit around the Earth’s mid-latitudes instead of its poles. MIO unlocks dawn-to-dusk collection, getting us ever closer to delivering near- and real-time insights to support our customers’ toughest missions. With this successful launch, Maxar’s constellation now includes eight satellites on orbit, including four next-generation WorldView Legion satellites. The first two WorldView Legion satellites were launched in May, with first images released by Maxar in July. It's time to get hyped! Our next two WorldView Legion satellites are on track to launch shortly—the launch window opens at 9 a.m. ET. These spacecraft will launch into mid-inclination orbit (MIO), enabling dawn-to-dusk collection and greatly expanding the capabilities of Maxar’s industry-leading Earth imaging constellation.
