We inspire, develop and drive leaders to solve the most critical challenges of our time. Founded in 1985 by John and Anne Welsh McNulty, our Foundation's values are informed by both families’ experiences as Irish immigrants welcomed by America and grounded in our belief in the value of education and the importance of opportunity. We believe in a few fundamental human desires: to live meaningful lives, to build better ones for our children, to have a stake in our futures and communities. We recognize the central role individual leadership plays in effecting change and enabling people to take control of their future and reach their potential. Our programs support individuals at different stages of their leadership journey, from elevating examples of high-impact leaders through the John P. McNulty Prize, and incubating leadership in students and individuals with great potential through our academic partnerships.

A college degree is seen as the key to economic mobility, yet low-income and first-generation graduates still earn only 66¢ for every dollar their higher-income peers make. Determined to close this gap, talent development expert and #McNultyPrize Winner Aimée Eubanks Davis founded Braven to create credit-bearing programs in partnership with universities that equip students with critical skills, connect them to local employers for internships and mentorship, and instill the confidence and experience to excel in careers worthy of their degrees. The impact is undeniable: 75% of Braven graduates out-earn their parents in their first job and 70% secure strong employment within six months of graduation, compared to only 30% nationally. #BeBraven Learn more: https://lnkd.in/egciDZtv

We are thrilled to announce the naming of Dr. Mande Holford as the inaugural Anne Welsh McNulty Chair of Science Innovation and Leadership at Hunter College. The creation of the McNulty Chair is a significant milestone in Hunter's long legacy of supporting pioneering women leaders in science. The Chair will collaborate within and beyond Hunter College, including with STEM faculty and institutions, and the McNulty Scholars Program that propels young women into STEM leadership pathways. We hope the Chair will inspire other public institutions nationwide by developing programs that foster excellence and inclusion in STEM. Throughout her career, Dr. Mande Holford has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing women in STEM fields and looks forward to a more equitable future in the sciences. "I believe a sign of equity would be people focusing on your science and the imprint you hope to leave behind on society through your work—regardless of who you are.” - Dr. Mandë Holford Learn more: https://lnkd.in/grZGiwZt

Congratulations to #McNultyCatalystFund awardee Kaya Henderson, who is now leading the Center for Rising Generations at The Aspen Institute. This initiative is sure to be a catalyst for youth development under Kaya’s leadership, and we can’t wait to see what comes!
“We want to be a place that supports innovation in youth work,” said Kaya Henderson, former District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) chancellor, in conversation with the Washington Business Journal about the historic launch of the Center for Rising Generations at the Aspen Institute under her visionary leadership. Thanks to the unprecedented donation of $185.7 million from the Bezos Family Foundation, the Institute is taking a significant step forward in youth development. By optimizing existing youth-focused programs at the Institute and creating new partnerships, this initiative will deepen our focus on equipping young people with the tools they need to lead, engage, and drive positive change in their communities and beyond. Vulnerability in leadership may seem counterintuitive, often mistaken for weakness in a world that celebrates perfection and infallibility. As a result, many leaders, fearing criticism and exposure, feel the need to maintain a facade of flawlessness. But the truth is, the key to unlocking true leadership credibility lies in vulnerability—it’s a powerful strength. It is the courage to show up as your authentic self, to admit your imperfections, and to ask for help when needed. In our latest blog, we explore how leaders like Gloria Walton, Marlon Peterson, Kaci Y. Patterson, MBA, Marilu Salvador, Miroslava Herrera, Kevin Hainline, and others from the Aspen Global Leadership Network, are redefining leadership by embracing vulnerability and authenticity. Discover how this approach leads to greater connection, collaboration, and innovation: https://lnkd.in/dHftTE9C

Our community of partners are on the frontlines tackling the critical challenges of our time. We stand with Edesia Nutrition on calling for safe passage for aid workers in Sudan as they try to reach children and families facing the impact of famine. Learn more about their efforts: https://lnkd.in/eBGg4dbh
Last week, famine was declared in North Darfur, Sudan. This is the first time in 7 years that the UN has declared a famine, which means millions of people are literally starving to death, and more will too without immediate action. Edesia's life-saving products like Plumpy'Nut are critical in a humanitarian crisis like this one. We shipped 18,000 boxes of Plumpy'Nut to children in North Darfur but getting it to people who need it has been treacherous and sometimes impossible for aid workers. That is why making it easier for aid workers to get to communities in need is so important. If they can deliver these miracle packets, we can save lives. Join us in calling for safe and free access to Sudan for aid workers so we can reach children and families in need. The time for action is now!
