Yesterday, Meristem had the opportunity to talk about our program to different non-profits and organizations as part of the 2024 Sacramento Venture Philanthropy (SVP) Fast Pitch class of non-profits! Thank you for this opportunity! We’re so excited to be a part of this 🥳

Meristem's Theatre Arts program has received a $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to produce an adaptation of The Giving Tree next year! NEA support is extremely competitive and the program is thrilled to have been selected. Thank you NEA!! We plan to have multiple performances in Spring of 2025 and invite the community, especially children and families, to the show. More info coming soon! Did you know that experts estimate that as many as 85% of people with autism or other neurodiversity are not working? Hands-on learning early is a great way to completely turn that number around? We learned recently that 90% of youth with autism who had a job during high school also had a job in their 20s. This is why we are so excited to be a part of STEP, where we match high school and college students with disabilities with paid work experience and job readiness training. A whole support network is behind the program, thank you to Goodwill Industries International and Golden Sierra for being partners in this impactful program in Placer and El Dorado counties and for California Department of Rehabilitation for facilitating STEP across California!

As we gear up to start a new program year, we wanted to remind everyone about our Transformative Autism Program (TAP)! 🌟 Through TAP, we encourage every employer to lead the way in employing bright, capable, and reliable people autism and other neurodiversity. Exciting News! 🌟 Meristem is thrilled to be a part of the statewide CA Rise cohort! We are looking forward to the community and resources to grow our cafe and other social enterprises that provide job training and paid work experience for Meristem students.

Year End Celebration 2024 🥳🎉 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our year end celebration! We’re so proud of our students for the accomplishments they have made this year, and those who are transitioning out of Meristem onto their next journey! Special thanks to all our performers and the Cafe for providing the delicious lunch!

So many year end festivities on campus yesterday! In Aerial Arts, Liz and Emily blew us away with their performance 🤩 This summer we added our first ever Aerial Arts Performance class. Our students picked their own music, moves, and costumes! Each student got a solo piece and they ended with a duet. Even our students and staff got in on the fun during the intermission! Way to go Liz and Emily!
