Giving back.

In 2022, Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific team members hosted an annual drive to support the USDA program Feds Feed Families by raising $4,320 to donate to Feeding San Diego. Over 25 volunteers worked together at the cumulative event Sept. 2023 to help sort groceries which Feeding San Diego used to feed local families. Supporting STEM.

For over a decade, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific have been premier supports of For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics by coaching teams of students participating in the various FIRST robotics challenges. Supporting the warfighter.

There is a difference, says Paul Baggerly, the ICOP East Coast engineering team lead, between satisfying the requirement and interpreting it based on what the user really needs. “I could build a system that has a thousand buttons and it’ll satisfy a thousand requirements, but it could be the exact opposite of what today’s users are going to want to look at,” he said, in line with “Think Warfighter,” one of the Center’s four strategic objectives.
