Invest Early NC, an early childhood funders collaborative focused on outcomes for children and families prenatal to age 8, wrote a piece for EdNC stressing the importance of early childhood and ensuring each child can thrive. Some highlights: "North Carolina has a proud legacy as a national leader in early childhood development, thanks to visionary bipartisan programs like Smart Start." "The evidence is overwhelming: when we invest in the health, education, and development of young children from birth to age five, we reap the biggest returns later in life. More spending on early care and education would save taxpayer money in the long run." "t’s time for North Carolina to once again take its place at the vanguard of early childhood education, and it’s going to take all of us — a public/private partnership of parents, businesses, government, and philanthropy. Families in North Carolina now have the option to choose between two collections of library books from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. 📕English – Mostly English books with an occasional bilingual English/Spanish book 📘Bilingual English/Spanish – All bilingual English/Spanish books If you already get books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and want to change the language, here’s what you do: 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁: • Go to imaginationlibrary.com/bos • Log in with your email. • Click on your child’s name. • Choose the language for the books. • Click “Update” to save. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁: Contact your local Smart Start Partnership. They will help you add your email to the system.
