  • IMPORTANT NEWS: Life-saving organ transplants growing at a record pace, but faulty federal regulations puts the US donation system at risk. “This regulatory approach of combining mathematically flawed metrics with draconian consequences … seems particularly ill-advised.”

New England Donor Services staff, volunteers, transplant recipients, and donor families joined the Mayor of Lynn, Jared Nicholson; Lynn City Councilor, Natasha Megie-Maddrey and RMV Assistant Registrar, James DiLisio to raise awareness of the importance of donation and transplant. Highlighted at the event were the donor awareness billboards installed at the Rotary on Route 60 to bring attention to the need for donors and how to register as one.

  • Julie King has been a dedicated Hospital Donation Strategist (HDS) at New England Donor Services (NEDS) for 23 years. Julie came from an untraditional background in employee benefit sales and was thrilled to join the (then-called) New England Organ Bank as part of creating the hospital development department. She joined the company because she was interested in learning more about organ and tissue donation and knew that the company had a great reputation. Julie covers 8 hospitals throughout the Massachusetts and New Hampshire area. She enjoys the diversity of the hospitals and staff she works with. “I appreciate that no day is the same. I love my team’s optimistic attitude and consistent dedication to getting the job done.” “I also enjoy attending my children’s schools annually to give presentations on organ donation and possible careers in medicine.” Thank you, Julie, for your dedication to NEDS’ mission!
