🌟 What a night! 🌟 Tonight, I witnessed my team North Shore Community Development Coalition thrive at our Small Business Night Market, providing a vital creative economic development opportunity for the community and supporting BIPOC businesses in growing and thriving. I also attended The Neighborhood Developers Raise the Roof event in Chelsea, focused on the essential growth and development of affordable housing while celebrating champions in the community. Congratulations to Rafael Mares and his team for organizing such an impactful evening! And amidst all this, I made it home just in time to tuck my 4-year-old in for the night. It was such a pleasure to have the Insight Experience team join us for an afternoon of service where they painted, organized our storage space, water the plants of Casa de Abuela, and so much more. My heart couldn’t be more full after one final week of neighborhood walks, transition planning and spending time with the awesome team at North Shore Community Development Coalition. It’s a wild experience to reach the last hour of the last day as CEO of North Shore Community Development Coalition, an organization I’ve been with for 18 years. What I know at this moment: * I love this work as much today as I did the day I walked in during the Spring of 2006. * Being a part of a mission driven team has given me such purpose & inspiration to fight for more resources & more opportunities and to push myself to do the aspects of the job which were a challenge. What a gift it is to be a part of a mission that matters. * The community development movement remains just that: a movement to bring investment and opportunity to the communities in the US which need it the most. It means fighting for economic and social justice in everything we do. One doesn’t have to be a CDC CEO to be a part of this movement. * Team is essential. We spend more time with our professional teams than many do with family members. Being kind, patient & encouraging is part of our contract with each other. North Shore CDC’s team is second to none. Although I will remain involved in certain projects of NSCDC for a bit longer, the end of my tenure as CEO is nevertheless a milestone of my life. Thanks to everyone for being a part of my experience.

“Good transportation as well as good roads are necessary to promote sustainable tourism.” - Lailah Gifty Akita 🏙 This quote couldn't be more true for the City of Salem, Massachusetts, which welcomes over two million tourists per year, most of them in the month of October. 🛣 I am excited to announce that the JM Goldson team will work under Juliet Walker and Meredyth Sanders of Kittelson & Associates, Inc. on Salem's Safe Streets for All Safety Action Plan. 🔉 As a local who grew up walking these streets and completed my Master's fellowship engaging and advocating for Salem's Point Neighborhood with North Shore Community Development Coalition, I know just how passionate and engaged the Salem community is. I look forward to returning to Salem and connecting with former colleagues to bring transportation safety to a city so near and dear to my heart!
