Norton Sports Health has partnered with the Bellarmine University Counseling Center to provide Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training to the Bellarmine University Athletics administrators, coaches and staff. We also provided training to identify the signs and symptoms of mental health needs with student-athletes and how sports reduce risk factors to mental health. “Providing mental health and suicide prevention training to Bellarmine Athletics coaches, staff, and administrators is essential to monitor for and intervene if a student-athlete needs help. Coaches and staff are uniquely poised to identify and intervene with student-athletes as first-line caregivers.
