NYC AIDS Memorial reposted this
On June 15th, the NYC AIDS Memorial unveiled the first 36 plaques in our dedication program, I STOP SOMEWHERE, WAITING FOR YOU. This act of remembrance is the first opportunity to honor and celebrate the lives of some of those we’ve lost - our loved ones, our friends, our family members, our heroes, activists and allies. As a founding board member of the Memorial, I was thrilled that we were able to dedicate a bench to fellow board member Janet Weinberg and, with the Johnson Family Foundation, a bench to honor Urvashi Vaid. I hope you are able to visit the Memorial (at 7th Avenue and West 12th Street) and see these - and the many more - dedications this summer. A limited number of benches remain available — I hope you’ll consider coming together with friends to honor someone meaningful to you. You can learn more about the program at https://lnkd.in/eBfnUjqH
