Los Angeles associate Gloria Borges battled colon cancer with courage and verve until the very end, leaving a lasting legacy at the firm. A Texas district court recently blocked the FTC's rule banning non-compete agreements, ruling that the agency exceeded its authority and that the rule was arbitrary and capricious. The FTC is considering an appeal, leaving the rule's future uncertain. An O'Melveny team recently advised TYK Medicines, Inc. on its initial public offering and listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
