TO TAKE VETERANS, THEIR FAMILIES AND YOUNG PEOPLE INTO THE OUTDOORS FOR RECONNECTION, HEALTHY ACTIVITY, AND HEALING.

ODO had the privilege of reaching the summit of #mountwashington with 14 individuals! 11 of which were first timers reaching the summit! All branches of the military were well represented including a 72 year old #armyveteran and a 11 year #navalacademy hopeful! Home Base Pratt & Whitney and RTX #veterans and family members filled the ODO Van and trails with smiles and laughs! This will be a day that lives were literally changed forever! #betheblessing Special thanks to Rachael Witkege Christina Williams Chelley Carroll-Worth for making this day possible and John Derek Zvonek and Michael Cole for keeping this group moving and safe!

Let’s come together for a fun day of remembrance and celebration! “On July 20th, 2022, United States #Army Master Sergeant Michael Clark passed away after being struck by lightning during a training exercise at Training Area 26 in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Clark was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and was raised in #glastonburyct He graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1999 and immediately enlisted in the US Army where he would train as an operating room technician. After completing basic training, Clark engaged in military specialization training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas before returning to Connecticut where he was employed by Connecticut Children's Medical Center as an Operating Room Technician. Throughout Clark’s 22-year long career with the U.S. Army, he was deployed four times, to Kuwait, Iraq, and twice to #Afghanistan Most recently, Clark had been working at the Connecticut Bone and Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital and for Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. Clark loved spending time with his family and taking them on adventures, bringing them to climb Mount Washington, and going on ski trips throughout New England. ODO had the pleasure of sharing our amazing Polaris Inc. #utvs with a beautiful organization blessing the #autismcommunity called Sun, Moon & Stars, Inc serving the greater #watertownct area! Their mission to provide families with children on the autism spectrum with activities, events, and programs that are fun and educational, while also building a sense of community. This organization is led an amazingly kind and committed woman named Christine Faressa, MBA. The video can only share a small portion of laughs and joy but hopefully you get the idea! The ODO Team thoroughly enjoyed our time with SMS and look forward to our fall family day!
