Created for Oregon Beverage Recycling Company, the film chronicles Seamus trying to earn money recycling bottles at Oregon BottleDrop to buy his very own fish and be like his big sister. We watch as Seamus learns more about the environmental impact of waste and to appreciate the power of recycling. For our team, “How Seamus Gets a Fish” is a wonderful demonstration of how, sometimes, the most interesting stories happen right in front of us. Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works met on “Examining Solutions to Address Beverage Container Waste”. Susan V. Collins, of the Container Recycling Institute, Jules Bailey, of the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative, and Stephen Alexander, of the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), provided expert testimony on why the United States is in need of a national container deposit return system. We're excited to open a full-service Redemption Center in McMinnville, which features our state-of-the-art bulk counting technology--Stream Count AI--to instantly count container returns, reducing lines and saving time for customers! Local leaders have long advocated to bring the BottleDrop network to the community with City Councilor Zack Geary first reaching out to OBRC in 2020. “Combining far better recycling outcomes with peak consumer convenience means a win for the environment, and precious time saved for our residents,” Geary said. “It’s exciting to see the most modern technology and the most convenient container return options right here in McMinnville.
