RESULTS ARE IN! 📊✨ Last week we asked: Why do undergrad students struggle to land internships? 🤔 66% of poll votes were correct—the main reason students aren't doing internships is because it's 😤 hard to get one! According to a 2023 Gallup report, only 41% of undergrads have had an internship while pursuing their bachelor’s degree, and 30% say it's because it's too difficult to secure one. 🚧 Interestingly, the second biggest reason is a lack of interest in internships, which raises even more questions about how institutions are educating students are the importance of real experience in launching and growing their careers. Internship participation is also significantly lower among first-generation college students (27%) compared to their non-first-gen peers (49%). With these barriers in mind, The Global Career Accelerator expands access to opportunities for a broader spectrum of students, regardless of background or major.
