In just two years, the #AI and #NaturalLanguageProcessing chatbot, #Chatico, has transformed how residents in #Bogota, Colombia, interact with their city government. Developed by #iBO, the city’s Digital Innovation Team (#iteam) under the leadership of the Secretaría General de la Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá and supported by the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, Chatico demonstrates the power of digital government-resident collaboration. For example, the tool engaged over 32,000 residents to provide input on the District Development Plan ‘Bogotá Walks Safely 2024-2027’ – many of whom participated in direct planning input for the first time. Chatico’s innovative approach earned it the 2023 ‘Best #DigitalTransformation Project’ award from Conecta Latam, recognizing Bogotá as a leader in digital #PublicInnovation. Scott’s priority of tackling housing vacancy. 🔹 In Prefeitura Municipal de Fortaleza, SAIS master’s student Noah Martin presented research findings on how waste pickers can issue recycling credits to Fortaleza’s Foundation of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Fundação de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Fortaleza (Citinova)). 🔹 Shae Nicolaisen, a BSPH master’s student also in Fortaleza, researched and co-ideated policies and implementation methodologies to improve youth nutrition in the city.
