We set out to launch a protein powder that addressed some of the key safety issues in the market, namely heavy metals that tag along with plant based protein powders (have you seen this product's recent makeover 👀 ?). Here's how traceability helped us address this safety issue top of mind, while delivery delicious protein with every scoop: 💛 We chose protein from organic regenerative peas, grown in North America, reducing the risk of heavy metal contamination (and delivering 9x carbon savings compared to whey). Today we’re expanding our packaging takeback program, covering the costs for customers to ship in their packaging that can’t be recycled curbside. When we select packaging we always prioritize 100% PCR content, but some products are delicate and need more moisture control (our gut health product for example). To address this gap we partnered with the Pact Collective, the most transparent program to properly handle hard to recycle packaging. We are now offering a mail-in option for those not near a Pact Collective bin. When our brand went omni-channel (hello Amazon, Whole Foods Market, Target, Wegmans Food Markets) we turned to Crisp, a software platform that helps manage our data across channels. Crisp shared, "Ritual’s story showcases how a data-savvy brand can leverage Crisp to efficiently trim costs and fuel nationwide retail expansion. For a mid-market CPG, managing internal data pipelines can exceed $240,000 a year, impacting margins in a competitive landscape." Ritual's science team recently presented the results of our human clinical trial for HyaCera—our skin health supplement—at the American Society for Nutrition annual conference.
