While many disasters garner national and even international attention, the greatest effects are felt at a local level. This is one of the reasons The Salvation Army puts a focus on the full life cycle of disaster recovery and not just immediate response. In March of 2023, the town of Rolling Fork, MS saw entire neighborhoods leveled by powerful tornadoes, and recovery is still underway over a year later. A dedicated case manager works with survivors to oversee these projects and guide them through the process of recovery. After more than a year of living apart, Betty and her husband were thrilled to move into their new home and be back together as a family. “We really appreciate what you are doing and have done,” Betty shared. “You are still here, and that means a lot.” Read more: https://loom.ly/E9-XaRg

We had a fantastic Back to School Drive with South Dade Toyota of Homestead. 🎒We were thrilled to join The Salvation Army and Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association to distribute 100 backpacks filled with school supplies and a $10 Walmart gift card. It was a collective effort that brought smiles and gratitude to everyone who came by. Each backpack, filled with everything needed for the school year, was a testament to our community's support, allowing local students to have the necessary tools for the 2024-2025 school year.
