On the Sharecare blog, Michael Acker, SVP of Account Management at Sharecare, shares how Koch Industries is making healthcare easier to navigate for its 121,000 U.S.-based employees and their families.   Within the first year, Koch employees using Sharecare’s advocacy solution showed a 14.2% overall increase in care gap closures compared to their non-engaged counterparts. Of the care gaps tracked, preventative screenings demonstrated the greatest impact; each screening yielded more than a 20-point increase in care gap closures for engaged employees compared to non-engaged employees.   These findings underscore the fact that Koch’s commitment to innovation and collaboration to support the well-being of its employees is saving time, closing care gaps, and enhancing health literacy and proactive management across its workforce.   Read more about Koch’s success on the Sharecare blog.

Today, we're thrilled to announce that Salinas, Calif., has become the first Blue Zones Community® in Monterey County, earning this certification through the collective efforts of our community and partners. This milestone reflects Salinas' commitment to well-being transformation, achieved through the Blue Zones Project®, a pioneering population health initiative that integrates evidence-based best practices in built environment, policy, and social connection within participating communities.   Since 2018, in partnership with Blue Zones LLC and with the support of Salinas Valley Health, Taylor Farms, and Montage Health, the Blue Zones Project by Sharecare has empowered Salinas residents to move more, eat healthier, connect better, and live with purpose. This effort has led to a 5.9-point increase in community well-being since 2019—while the rest of the nation experienced a dramatic downward trend.   These gains are thanks to the participation of 18,500+ residents and 98+ organizations, and the implementation of 36 new community policies, plans, and initiatives.    We're proud of what Salinas has accomplished and look forward to seeing the remaining Monterey County communities follow in their footsteps.
