Stillwater Hospice hosted the Interprofessional Education Exchange on April 12, with approximately 65 students from University of Saint Francis College of Health Sciences, including Physician's Assistants, Nursing, Kinesiology, and Social Work. Stillwater’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ann Moore, Chief Nursing Officer Heidi Buffenbarger, Director of Support Services Mary Willems-Akers and Spiritual Care Coordinator Mike Baker participated on a panel as part of the experience. The interprofessional education in palliative care curriculum gives students an opportunity to develop knowledge, values, and skills that will translate to providing high-quality compassionate care to people with serious illnesses. Training students from a variety of related disciplines together provides a unique and meaningful educational experience that helps them become a competent health care communicator and leader. Curriculum for this project was developed with support from the National Cancer Institute's grant-funded project through the University of Illinois, Interprofessional Education Exchange.

Willie Smith, FIC, a Financial Advisor with Thrivent, used one of his Thrivent Action Team grants to purchase new books for the Peggy F.
