This summer, Haskell celebrated alongside NAVFAC Southeast at the grand opening of its P-720 Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Austere Quarters, located in the Andros Islands, Bahamas. This project included the design and construction of a new 44-unit austere quarters and administration facility for assigned military personnel. The new facility is more than just a building — it’s a home away from home. Each room is tailored for comfort with modern amenities, while the entire facility is built to withstand the unique challenges of its remote location. From state-of-the-art common areas to a commercial laundry facility, we’ve ensured that every detail meets the highest standards. The site is complete with parking, utility connections and a telecommunications expansion to keep everyone connected. Designed in line with UFC 4-010-01 for Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) and UFC 1-200-02 for sustainability, this project features elements like a solar domestic hot water system and low-flow fixtures, reinforcing a dedication to eco-friendly practices. Dwight D. Garrels, Haskell’s Brewmaster, will be packing his lederhosen and taking part in the ISBT - International Society of Beverage Technologists to reprise presentation on the unique role C0₂ plays in brewing beer during ISBT Europe 2024 in September.       Garrels, who has more than 30 years in the brewing industry, presented in June at the ISBT’s BevTech event. The Haskell Company is proud to remain intrinsically linked with Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).      Believing it critical that there be an organization to provide advocacy for and education on design-build project delivery, Haskell founder Preston Haskell III was instrumental in the organization's creation in 1993 and served as its first chairman.      Last year, in celebration of the DBIA’s 30th anniversary, Haskell.com excerpted the chapter of Preston’s limited-release book, “Building a Life Having Fun | Autobiography of Preston H.
