Earlier this month, we were excited to host Harvard University Professor Dr. Mahzarin Banaji once again, as part of our continued Learning & Engagement programming for our people. Dr. Banaji shared lessons from her decades of scientific research on how to help overcome “implicit bias” – a term she helped coin in the early 1990s – and the surprising ways it can impact the workplace. As a firm, hearing from experts like Dr. Banaji is critical to continuing to maintain a workplace that fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Throughout our partnership with PS and CEO Amina Belouizdad Porter, we have successfully built a first-of-its-kind luxury travel service for commercial flyers. Last week, we were excited to continue the TPG Angelo Gordon tradition with the TPG Olympics in New York. Over 200 people from across the firm gathered to compete in everything from basketball to cornhole. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the games and to Team Pink Pony Club for taking home the gold. It was a great display of the firm’s culture of teamwork and collaboration and we’re already looking forward to next year’s TPG Olympics!

In our latest edition of The TPG Take, we sit down with TPG COO Anilu Vazquez-Ubarri, who shares her perspective on the dynamics of building and growing the operational backbone of TPG as well as her outlook on seeding and staking through the lens of TPG NEXT, the firm’s strategy focused on backing the next generation of alternative asset managers. “We think that there's a big opportunity for TPG NEXT to be the model for how the seeding and staking models of the future will look. We are ultimately a solutions strategy. And we adapt, we evolve, and we grow with our GPs.” 

Last week we were excited to gather over 200 new team members at our annual Global New Hire Orientation in San Francisco and virtually. It was a chance for them to hear from leadership from across the firm and network with their new colleagues from around the globe. To quote our CEO Jon Winkelried: “Everything we accomplish as a firm is a result of our people. Our teams are creative, hardworking, diverse, and collaborative, and we’re proud of the culture we’ve built.” We’re looking forward to all that’s ahead for our newest teams as they start their journeys at TPG.
