That’s very compelling, I think, and an incredible value add for the program, in my opinion.” - Will Pritchard, Indianapolis Public Schools Board Commissioner for District 1 Tutored by Teachers recently had the privilege of presenting to the Indianapolis Public Schools School Board where we highlighted the success of our high-dosage tutoring program. Over the past two years, we served over 50% of IPS students with personalized learning programs that showed practical and statistically significant results. Studies of NWEA MAP data demonstrated that students gained over 2 months of additional learning in Math and ELA. The program, the largest and most innovative of its kind in the nation, was met with excitement from the School Board members.     Since 2022, Tutored by Teachers has partnered with Indianapolis Public Schools to bring small-group instruction to students throughout the district. Throughout the engagement, tutored students scored 14 points higher in Math and 12 points higher in ELA on the ILEARN state assessment. This past school year, more than 50% of the IPS student population participated in a TbT program – one of the largest in the country. Tutored by Teachers remains a proud partner in serving its students and helping them recognize (and reach) their potential. “We’ve got great momentum.     This month, The 74 Media reported on New Mexico’s renewed effort to expand statewide tutoring access through $8.5M in funding for high-dosage tutoring. This massive undertaking will benefit New Mexico’s neediest students to bridge the gap of learning loss still reverberating from the pandemic. Tutored by Teachers is proud to continue our partnership with Las Cruces Public Schools in the year ahead. During the 2023-24 school year, Tutored by Teachers served 10 schools in Las Cruces. The impact? Participating students gained twice as much learning as those who did not. New Mexico’s statewide endeavor is a commitment to long-term educational success for its neediest students.     Last week was incredibly special for us at Tutored by Teachers as we had the privilege of presenting to the Indianapolis Public Schools School Board! This was a capstone for us and our amazing partners at IPS. Over the past two years, we’ve implemented the country’s largest, most successful, and most innovative high-dosage tutoring program. There was palpable excitement in the room as Mimi Newton detailed the tremendous outcomes we achieved at scale. We served over 50% of IPS students with personalized learning programs that showed practical and statistically significant results. Studies of NWEA MAP data demonstrated that students gained over 2 months of additional learning in Math and ELA. We were especially thrilled to have surmounted the 95% problem. Our data showed that the majority of kids who needed the instruction received it, and with the right dosage (“10 hours?!” as Commissioner Will Pritchard marveled). This also held true for our opt-in program, Tutoring for All, which turned the on-demand model on its head. Our success has been driven by our shared mission to close the opportunity gap, our data-informed and iterative approach, and our fidelity to implementation. Our alignment in these areas was made possible by the bold vision of IPS leadership. Dr. Aleesia Johnson, Ed.D. and her team have built a national case study on the single best and most effective use of ESSER. (Ahem, Secretary Cordona, U.S. Department of Education) Thank you so much, Dr.Johnson and Deputy Superintendent Andrew Strope for the invite to present, for your partnership, and the honor of serving the community of Indianapolis. A special thank you to Annie Johansen and John Isaacson for spearheading such a high fidelity implementation. We’re excited for what we’ll continue to achieve in the next school year!
