United Parents helps families with children with mental health, emotional and behavioral disorders by providing support, education and resources. United Parents is a grass roots organization founded in 1990 on the basic principle of "parents helping parents." Understanding the unique challenges of families raising children with mental health, emotional and behavioral disorders, we identify and bridge gaps in traditional services by integrating local resources to enhance longterm outcomes in the home and community. We advocate for families to be recognized and respected as full partners in the treatment of their children.

Yesterday I was in Sacramento advocating for Community Based Organizations and better support and services for California children, youth and families. Thank you to Senator Monique Limon's office and Assemblymember Bennett's office for setting time aside to meet with us and actively listening to our concerns. And a big SHOUT OUT to California Alliance of Child and Family Services for organizing and coordinating this empowering event! #notaboutuswithoutus #CBO #advocacymatters

I’m happy to announce that United Parents was awarded a Sierra Health Foundation/DHCS contract that will help us in expanding access to and utilization of behavioral health recovery services through a health equity approach that seeks to remove barriers to care for communities of color, Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, and others who have faced discrimination and unequal access to behavioral health care systems. We are sooooo very excited. This opens up opportunities to branch out into the more rural and high need areas of Ventura county and the state ;). Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gtKdez97

Today we attended the CAUSE 21st Annual Fundraiser for Raising Justice. Thank you to Jack Hinojosa, ED of Child Development Resources, for hosting a table. Your partnership means a lot to UP. The highlight of the night was a fantastic speech given by California State Labor Commissioner Lilia García-Brower!
