A big thank you to Virginia Tech, one of our USGIF-accredited universities, for hosting us over the past two days as we continue our efforts to foster GEOINT education and strengthen collaboration with academic leaders. USGIF’s CEO, Ronda Schrenk, and Content & Community Engagement Manager, Lyndsey Hofmann, had the pleasure of presenting to Dr. Santosh Rijal, Ph.D. Modeling with GIS class, where they introduced students to the expanding opportunities within GEOINT. Our visit also included insightful meetings with Dr. Keith Goyne, Associate Dean of the College of Natural Resources and Environment, and Brandon Herndon, Director of the Center for Geospatial Information Technology, to discuss how geospatial intelligence is being integrated across Virginia Tech’s academic landscape. As one of our accredited GEOINT programs, Virginia Tech plays a critical role in preparing students for the evolving demands of the GEOINT workforce. These discussions with geospatial faculty further highlighted the value of academic partnerships in advancing geospatial intelligence education. We look forward to continuing to support programs like Virginia Tech’s in cultivating the next generation of geospatial professionals. #GEOINT #USGIF #USGIFAccreditation #GeospatialIntelligence #FutureofGEOINT #FutureLeaders #GEOINTCommunity #Geospatial Christine Devine (MacKrell) Gary Dunow Carrie Drake Molly Brady
