This initiative facilitated crucial updates and data collection from both the public and first responders, fostering vital communication between all stakeholders involved. 🏆 Outstanding Mentor/Coach Eric Newman, a Remedial Project Manager in the Superfund Program, was recognized for his outstanding commitment to mentoring and coaching newer RPMs in the Site Remediation Branch. With nearly 34 years of Superfund experience, Eric is always willing to go above and beyond to offer his expertise to others, either as a formal mentor/coach, or informally during meetings with colleagues and partners. People who live or work near farms can be unintentionally exposed to pesticides. By assessing the amount of a pesticide that drifts, EPA can then identify the measures to protect people from unintended pesticide exposure. This new policy will ensure that any needed protections are in place when a pesticide is initially approved – so people don’t have to wait years for the protections they need. 🔗https://lnkd.in/eXwTWhEH

Then you may be witnessing a potentially toxic algal bloom. 🫢 Warming water, droughts, and sea level rise can make harmful algal blooms, which can harm human health or aquatic ecosystems. Harmful algal blooms can produce dangerous toxins that sicken or kill people and animals (livestock or pets), create low oxygen/dead zones in the water, threaten access to water and/or raise its treatment costs, and hurt industries that depend on clean water.
