Five honors in one morning!     Earlier today at the #ASLRRA2024 Annual Conference, Watco Chairman Rick Webb was inducted to the Short Line Hall of Fame. The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association also honored Watco team member Sam Pederson as Safety Person of the Year. In addition, Watco received the Veterans Engagement Award, Business Development Award (Mission Mountain Railroad), and an honorable mention for Short Line Railroad of the Year (Eastern Idaho Railroad).

Elected officials and industry professionals recently got an up-close look at operations at Watco’s Texas Coastal Bend Railroad (TCBR) in Corpus Christi. While on-site, they toured the Port of Corpus Christi and learned how the TCBR works alongside ocean vessels, semi-trucks, and Class I railroads at the port to keep the flow of freight moving.

Development is taking shape at the Global Transportation and Industrial Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Watco Executive Vice President and CFO Rick Baden (pictured far right) recently joined state and tribal leaders to celebrate the progress of this one-of-a-kind industrial park, which will offer access to multiple modes of transportation as well as transloading, warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing options.
