As the commercial momentum for drone delivery continues in 2024, increased scale across the industry has prompted coordination and digital services for sharing the airspace between drones. 🤝 The Federal Aviation Administration, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and industry participants have worked to operationalize UAS Traffic Management (UTM) services to support complex, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), commercial drone operations, with contributions from Global UTM Association (GUTMA) and Linux Foundation’s InterUSS Platform. Our team has been hard at work bringing our newest aircraft design to life. 💪 Here's an uncut, full drone delivery mission, including a package pickup from our AutoLoader—a simple, non-powered mechanical device that allows retail partners to utilize drone delivery with existing curbside pickup workflows. ⬇️🎥 For those of you who missed our unveiling earlier this year, here are the specs: 📍 Round-trip range of 12 miles ⚖️ Payload: 5lbs of contents + the box 📦 Uses a larger standardized delivery box 🪶 Weight: approximately 20 pounds ⚡ Works with Wing’s proven, simple, lightweight, and modular charge pad infrastructure (nests) 🏁 Like our other planes, the new aircraft can cruise at approximately 65 mph Wing's new aircraft will benefit both retail partners and their customers. Partners can now offer a wider range of products for drone delivery thanks to the increased payload capacity and standardized box size, streamlining their fulfillment process and getting customers what they need in as little as 15 minutes. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gz68WSQr
