How can you get feedback to improve your chances of promotion in B2B Marketing?
Feedback is always biased. Find what is useful for you in it but don’t feel the need to take all of it. It’s always good to openly listen but it doesn’t need to always be actioned. Those that get promoted are the ones that can distinguish what needs to be applied and what is just one persons opinion.

How can you improve your decision-making with data?
Data is a gift and a curse. 1. You can get lost in the volume of data, especially at early stage companies if you aren’t careful. You need to really understand what the data points mean and where they are coming from. Don’t over engineer it too early because you will never learn anything. 2. Data can be manipulated to tell whatever story you want but it’s only helpful if you’re actually learning something. Don’t use it to prove points and keep a consistent way of looking at your baseline to ensure you can see changes in patterns.

What are some tips for maintaining a healthy work-life balance in high-stress B2B marketing?
Brutal prioritization. You should have a clear list of the things that have to be accomplished which requires focus and top down alignment. Once you have that list, you need to either say no or be able to have serious conversations about what gets cut if something else comes up. Often times this keeps a clear path on what’s important but also helps you maintain flexibility where others on your team can help pull together solutions to get more done.

What are some ways to show you're ready for a promotion in B2B marketing strategy?
One of the things I most look for when considering promoting someone into a strategic role is their ability to convince senior team members of an idea or process change. It’s challenging to manage up but is an important skill to master if taking on a strategic role - you have to be able to bring everyone on board in order to be successful.
