About us
The Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) is a premier developmental and leadership program designed to enhance the professional knowledge and capabilities of personnel recruited into the Acquisition Workforce (AWF) for the Department of the Navy (DON). The Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC) manages the NADP in a joint effort with naval commands to prepare the future workforce. The NADP offers an extraordinary opportunity for those who desire to rapidly advance their professional career and feel a sense of pride in supporting the mission of the DON. The program supports our talented NADP employees by providing a challenging environment with opportunities to become certified in a designated functional area, travel for enriching learning experiences, exposure to senior leadership, and upon eligibility, pursue a graduate degree if desired. Many successful participants have gone onto high-ranking positions within DON – a further testament to the power of our program in developing future acquisition leaders. Mr. Nicholas “Nick” Sarica Nicholas Sarica joined the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) in April of 2022 as a Life Cycle Logistics employee at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. Nick completed a 90-day rotation with SEA 05R (Readiness and Logistics) and was responsible for updating the MIL-STD-1339C Fitting Out Procedures – Ships. This military standard prescribes shipbuilding contractor fitting out procedures for new construction, conversion, and the modernization of ships under NAVSEA contracts. MIL-STD-1339C was last revised on 27 February 1990, making it an overage document that needed to be updated. Nick reviewed the consolidated comments form that contained comments from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and worked with those SMEs to incorporate the updates that needed to be made. Nick was presented the opportunity to brief at the Provisioning Center of Excellence to explain the importance of updating MIL-STD-1339C, which resulted in support efforts from the Virginia Class Program Office. MIL-STD-1339D is currently being routed through the Standards Review Board process to be published and replace MIL-STD-1339C later this year. Nick also completed the Navy Insights into Industry Course (3IMC) at The University of Virginia Darden School of Business (graduation picture below). The 3IMC course helps to develop and foster an understanding of the role of cash flow, profit, risk, and contribution margin in industry decisions, and to predict how industry will react to government proposals allowing them to structure proposals for favorable outcomes to the government. Congratulations on all your accomplishments while in the NADP, Nick! We wish you continued success.

Ms. Jazmine Vanhook Jazmine Van Hook started her Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) journey at Naval Sea Systems Command in August of 2021 where she homeported in the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) 6 as a Logistics Management Specialist. She heard about the NADP from her cousin, who joined NADP in 2001 as a Business Cost Estimator and decided to apply. During Jazmine’s time in the NADP she completed job rotations with PEO IWS 4B FMS, SEA0252, PEO IWS 6 APM/COR, and an external rotation to Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center in San Diego, CA. Jazmine really enjoyed the rotations and stated that “the rotations combined the right mix of training and exposure to all different aspects of the Navy.” Jazmine is a part of the NADP Entry Level Employee (ELE)'s Leadership team where she connects on-boarding ELE's to the Washington Navy Yard’s NADP Teams channel and organizes events such as panel discussions and command events. Jazmine is enrolled in the Accelerated Compensation for Developmental Positions Program where she will be acting in her future role as PEO IWS 6 Navigation Logistics Assistant Program Manager until her graduation in August of 2024. Continue to do great things, Jazmine!
