Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) knows you’re “terribly frightened by what you’ve seen” in Volume 1 of Stranger Things Season 4. But it’s got nothing on Volume 2.
The newest hype trailer for the final chapters of Stranger Things 4 is here, and it’s ready to flay your mind.
In the clip, Brenner warns Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) that her friends are not ready for what’s coming. But in her heroic, Eggo-loving fashion, Eleven knows that “my friends need me,” even if Brenner doesn’t think she’s prepared.
We also overhear Will (Noah Schnapp) warning Mike (Finn Wolfhard) that “he is not going to stop, not until he’s taken everyone.” He, of course, being Vecna/One/Henry Creel. But it’s not all creepy warnings, the trailer also boasts a tender moment between Will and his older brother, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), as they hug in the empty kitchen of a restaurant.
Back in Hawkins, the teens ready for battle, with Max (Sadie Sink), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Erica (Priah Ferguson) entering the Creel House in daylight, while Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Robin (Maya Hawke) take the fight to the Upside Down. We also see Lucas pummel jock-on-a-mission Jason (Mason Dye), who clearly seems to be unwelcome on the scene.
Elsewhere, Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Eddie (Joe Quinn) are tag-teaming, as usual. We also see Eddie grab his guitar in the Upside Down version of his trailer, saying, “Let’s do it,” before we catch a glimpse of him absolutely shredding on his “sweetheart” atop the alternate universe Munson abode.
The back half of the hype trailer pulsates with — you guessed it — a remix of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” as Murray (Brett Gelman) blasts a flamethrower and Robin warns Steve that she has a “terrible feeling” that “it might not work out for us this time.” And, because what’s a Stranger Things clip without a terrifying creature or two, we also spot a Demogorgon running amok and Brenner carrying Eleven out of a room, all before Vecna forebodingly teases, “Your friends have lost.”
The trailer ends with Eleven, bathed in red light, using her powers in front of what looks to be a stained glass window with a red rose on it. Do with that information what you will…
