Privacy legislation
The Privacy Act 1988 applies to Australian Government agencies and organisations with an annual turnover of more than $3 million, and some other organisations.
Most state and territories also have their own privacy laws which cover their public sector agencies.
And there are a number of Australian laws other the Privacy Act that relate to privacy.
