Save-the-Date for Legionella Conference on November 13 and 14, 2024

Legionella can cause Legionnaires' disease (pneumonia) and Pontiac fever. At the Robert Koch Institute site in Wernigerode, these pathogens are studied in the unit "Enteropathogenic Bacteria and Legionella". On November 13 and 14, 2024, an international conference on Legionella will take place there under the motto "Towards the next level of Legionella risk profiling". Topics include environmental reservoirs, pathogenicity and virulence factors of the pathogens, new findings in therapy and immune response as well as surveillance and diagnostics. The keynote speeches will be held by Prof Buchrieser, Paris, and Prof Hartland, Melbourne.
