IV. PROJECT DURATION: MARCH 1,2021 AND APRIL 4,2021

V. LENGTH OF IMPLEMENTATION: 1 WEEK OF PLANTING AND 4

WEEKS OF NURTURING TOTAL OF 6 WEEKS TO ACHIEVE THE
PROJECT (1-3 HOURS PER DAY OF COMMUNITY WORK)

VI. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:

a. Background

Our mother earth provides us with too many precious resources that nourish
our lives successfully, and one of these precious gifts is trees. Trees are the primary
provider of protection and food on earth for both animals and human beings. They
act as a natural refuge for several tribes who reside in the woods, as well as for
birds. Trees must be protected since they provide us with many advantages, such
as furniture wood, flood and soil degradation protection, air refreshment, air
purification, pleasant summer air, etc. They are also the primary source of products
such as paper, sometimes as medication, and other natural resources. We must
consider the roles and meaning of trees in our lives such that we do not add to their
loss. More residents should be encouraged to conserve trees in the local region,
especially in Nueva Vizcaya who’s at risk of human-made or natural disasters,
primarily landslides and earthquakes.
a. Justification of the project

We think that the most effective, reliable, and valid method to do so is

Home-based Tree Planting. This group came up with the concept of undertaking a
tree planting operation to protect, conserve and project Mother Nature and to
provide the chosen community’s security on human-made and natural risks. By this
attempt, a tree-planting project at our respective may leave a continuing sustainable
footprint and lasting preservation of the environment. By engaging in this task, the
leaders and, above all, the participants feel pride and success, believing that they
will make a meaningful change even if it is done at home. This practice often
facilitates an excellent team dynamic between the leaders and the participants when
enjoying the fun and at the same time returning to the environment. In addition, the
leaders and their participants became more economically conscious about the
problems they need to notice in the world.

b. Benefits derived from the project

The conventional method or traditional way of planting gives students like

us, a great opportunity not only to learn about growing and raising a tree, but also
the value of nature, their daily lives, and also the local history and traditions as far
as agriculture is concerned. Even if our house has not much space to bring a full-
grown garden in, various planting beds may also be installed along the side together
with a pot that can be transferred to a site where trees can grow freely. At the same
time, this project promotes and draws on the awareness of income generation
practices as a preventative measure against disaster risk among young people in the
community. Students should be allowed to plant trees in their households, schools,
as well as other public areas. While the planting appears promising in public and
official documents, it struggles to yield the required effects on the ground due to
the lack of community participation.

VII. COVERAGE OF THE PROJECT:

This project primarily focused on tree planting and environmental-friendly games

and activities. Our group wanted to engage students of Saint Mary University and the
members of this project in their respective homes. As a group, we believe that the best
way to conserve, protect and preserve the world is by planting. Indeed, it is crucial to
raise public consciousness about this since links and mass initiatives are needed. To
make school events a daily event, students should concentrate and be focused on
planting promotion. At the same time, this project is based on discovering strategies to
encourage tree planting and the effect that such a practice has on students. Without
engagement from the people, no grassroots initiative achieves effectiveness. Plants
should be assigned to students to save for. It is also necessary to hold a tree-planting
project. It is important to encourage the tradition of sitting under trees so that people
become accustomed to doing so. To raise visibility, contests such as slogan
composition, essays, and drawing competitions should also be conducted.

VIII. METHODOLOGY

First thing, there will be a conference or meeting agenda together with all the
members and other members before the tree planting is conducted. This will be done 2-3
days ahead of the said project. Next will be the preparation of the area or site where the
seedling will be planted. We make sure that we are coordinated by the barangay officials
and a team to help us find a secure site where trees can be planted. In the program proper,
this will be held 7-8 am sharp before the sun rises. There will be the Distribution,
Gathering, and Preparation of seedlings in the assembly area to all members. (All materials
are given the day before the program). After preparation, planting will start. For us to plant
forest trees, we will need the cooperation of other members and volunteer students. After
all the planting process, it should be nurtured in a few weeks and document the
development. Because in order to achieve our aim of raising the consciousness of the value
of saving the environment by planting trees. We developed a strategy and began planting
trees the next day and engaging with residents about trees' value for the community. It is
expected that there will be greener areas and healthier communities after this project.
