PHASE 1: PLOT AND PLANT PREPARATION

In plotting and preparing for planting the petchay seedlings, I told my mom about the project
implementation of the NSTP, after that she bought 1 pack of petchay seeds and a garden
soil, she told me that I just ask for my aunt for a pot because she has a lot of it. But suddenly
my aunt gave me a plastic bottle for a temporary pot for the plants. March 22, 2021 I
prepared the seedlings(pechay), the plastic bottle for temporary pots, and garden soil. Early
in the morning, as I prepared the following my aunt told me the ways on how to plant a
petchay seeds. She told me that I should only put 3 seeds in every hole in the pot.
PHASE 2: PLANTING OF PETCHAY SEEDS

March 22, 2021 afternoon, I put the garden soil into the temporary pot and started to plant a
petchay seedlings, I poke it and put 3 seedlings in a hole and covered it with soil, after that I
sprayed water in it. My aunt told me that after 3 days it will grow already.
March 23, 2021 I transferred my seedlings into a bigger pot, because my aunt told me that it
is better than the plastic bottle. After 3 days I saw my plant was already growing. I am happy
because I already saw green leaves in my pot. And it is growing day by day.
After a few days I put fertilizers on it so that it will help them grow and away from pests. I
saw how it changes day by day. In the morning I watered it and put it in the sunlight so that it
would grow.
Day 17, I transferred the petchay seedlings into their individual pots so that they can grow
properly. And continuously watered it. April 10, I can see the differences between from day
seventeen until today.

PHASE 3: PLANT CARE AND MONITORING

Planting petchay is challenging, because it is my first time planting. But despite that, I just
love it now. Seeing them growing it heartwarming, I love seeing them grow because of my
effort planting them. I watered them everyday and made sure that they have enough sunlight
so that they won't be dead. Putting fertilizers so that a pest can’t come near them and so that
they can grow healthier. And putting them into their individual pots so that they can grow
easier.

PHASE 4: HARVEST AND SHARING OF HARVESTED VEGETABLES

Pechay is a convenient vegetable to grow and look for because it requires minimal
time and effort. And it requires less effort to care for your crops and less time to just get them
ready to harvest. Planting requires certain resources, which we can easily find in our home.
Once you've planted and cared for your plants, it's time to harvest, which can take anything
from a month to 45 days.

In taking care of my pechay, I really enjoyed taking care of it. I watered it daily and I
learned that the soil should be always moist so that the plant lived. And I have experienced
the difficulties of taking care of it because some pest is pestering my plants but I have
managed to take care by putting pesticides and I put fertilizers so that it gets bigger
everyday.

The difference between the plants from day one until now, from april 11 to april 30 is
that I saw many changes and I saw my plants grow very well. My pechay plants have 5-6
leaves on it, and weigh 40 grams each of the pechay plants after I harvested them. I cut the
pechay plants and combined them together by 6 and I put it in a plastic bag so that I can
share it with my neighbors. I put signage outside our house so that anyone from my
neighborhood can get it. Because I believe that sharing is caring.
