How it works
Degassing is carried out as a continuous process in the degassing compartment of the dedicated vessel. The actual degassing takes
place in the bubble column where sulphur is vigorously agitated by bubbling air through the liquid sulphur. The bubble column has
separation baffles and is open at the top and bottom. This allows sulphur to circulate and encourages sufficient mixing of the total
contents of the degassing compartment. For low maintenance operation, the process does not use a catalyst and has no moving
parts.
