FOUNDED BY JACK KORNFIELD, SHARON SALZBERG

AND JOSEPH GOLDSTEIN, WAS CREATED, WHICH

WAS IMPORTANT FOR MINDFULNESS TO BECOME

WIDESPREAD IN THE WEST.

THE IMS HELPED INTRODUCE MINDFULNESS

MEDITATION TO THE WEST AND THE COMBINATION OF

THE FORMER AND MBSR POPULARIZED MINDFULNESS

IN THE WEST IN CLINICAL AND NON-CLINICAL

POPULATIONS.

RECENTLY, A GROUP OF RESEARCHERS

ATTEMPTED TO INTEGRATE MINDFULNESS WITH

POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY IN AN INTERVENTION

THEY CALLED THE POSITIVE MINDFULNESS

PROGRAM, WHERE THEY DEMONSTRATED THAT

THEY CAN INDEED BE COMBINED IN A

RESEARCH SETTING.
