I have not endorsed in uncontested races, or where I do not have good information on
candidates.
2
Alcott’s opponent, Kelly Thompson, is a current judge on the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Judge Thompson’s
rulings are not universally bad, and I cannot say that he is agenda-driven, but having reviewed a number of his
rulings, I cannot track the logic and rationale of certain of his decisions – he is unpredictable, and that is not a good
thing. I think Alcott is the better pick.
3
Judge Bissig is a Democrat, but so is her opponent. As a Circuit Judge, she has had some decent rulings, and I do
not think she will be a partisan actor on the bench (said another way, she may have a left-leaning tilt, but she isn’t a
partisan in a black robe). I can live with that over the alternative.

Joe Fischer is a Constitutionalist, meaning that he believes in the constitution and the law, as it is written. That
takes on significant importance at the state level. Joe also believes in separation of powers, and following the law. I
compare that to his opponent, Justice Keller, who has issued a number of rulings that appear singularly results-and-
politics driven (her dissent in the right to work case; her upholding Government Beshear’s lockdown mandates
including a mask mandate, a month after posting his hashtag #TeamKentucky, and #MaskUp on her facebook); her
questionable ruling that a harmed business owner did not have standing to challenge the Governor’s mandates; her
upholding abortions for out-of-state minors without their parents knowledge or consent; and, perhaps most
egregiously, her hug-a-thug judicial philosophy overturning multiple child sexual predator convictions: Garrett Dye
v. Commonwealth, 2012-SC-0003 (murder conviction of a 9 year old victim, overturned); Michael Calloway v.
Commonwealth, 2012-SC-334, (overturned conviction of first degree sexual abuse of a 7 year old victim); Richard
Yates v. Commonwealth, 2012-SC-00275 (14 year old raped by her stepfather, overturned conviction); Samuel
Crabtree v. Commonwealth, 2012-SC-00591, (overturned convictions for child pornography, over 67 images of
children, including videos of children having oral sex with adults with names of photos like “illegal underage lolita
preteen pedo” and “baby rape,” and Keller and her colleagues found the evidence insufficient to sustain a
conviction); Nery Ruiz v. Commonwealth, 2014-SC-00124 (anal sodomy and first degree sexual abuse convictions
with a 6 year old victim, overturned); Dustin Farra v. Commonwealth, 2013-SC-00505 (reversed conviction for
sodomy upon a 4 year old victim over a technicality); Michael Robert v. Commonwealth, 2014-SC-00284 (first
degree sexual abuse, rape, and sodomy convictions upon a 11 year old victim overturned); Dunn v. Maze, 2015-SC-
00437 (minor anally raped, tossed convictions on technicality); Kevin Herp v. Commonwealth, 2014-SC-00447
(sodomy conviction and sexual abuse upon a 9 year old victim reversed because the trial court did not grant a
continuance); Ernest Manery v. Commonwealth, 2014-SC-00666 (rape and sex abuse conviction upon a 10 year old,
reversed).

I recognize I am picking the lesser of evils in Louisville – generally I am picking the left leaning balls-and-strikes
judges versus the far left-wing activists on the bench for these races.
6
The Winter/Cetrulo race is simple: In her short time on the bench, Judge Cetrulo has issued rulings that are pro-
abortion, anti-religious liberty, pro-vaccine mandate, and seems to be following the agenda of the person that

There is no way to outline all of the reasons for all of the endorsements for Circuit and District Court, but I am
happy to take questions on a case-by-case basis. I am looking for judges who will follow the law, and not pursue an
agenda from the bench. On criminal justice issues, I am looking for judges who will ensure every Defendant a fair
trial (I am not after a prosecution or defense tilt – I want someone who adheres to the presumption of innocence),
but after conviction will also keep the community safe from predators and criminals after conviction. Some of these
picks are picking outstanding judicial candidates who I would be excited to vote for, while some of these picks are
just picking the lesser of evils.
