When Required Fuses

Front Mounted Scarifier Tips

WARNING
Pins, when struck with force, can fly out and
cause injury to nearby people.

Make sure the area is clear of people when


driving retainer pins.

To avoid injury to your eyes, wear protective


glasses when striking a pin. Replace any fuse which may have a broken
element.

Front Wheel Spindle Bearing


Housings NOTICE
Always inspect primary element before and
after cleaning, with a light bulb inside the
element. Discard element if any tears, rips or
damage is evident.

time the primary element is cleaned for the third

Secondary Element
Service filter elements when indicator shows red.

Primary Element
1. Remove cover and primary element.
2. Clean inside of body and cover.

NOTE: The primary element should be replaced


after being cleaned a maximum of 6 times.
Replace the element once a year even though it
has not been cleaned 6 times. 1. Remove cover and primary element.

Inspecting Element Cooling System – Cleaning

At operating temperature, the engine coolant

Circle Pinion
Adjust Clearance

Use the procedures which follow to adjust the


circle-to-pinion clearances.

140G, 12G, 14G Circle-to-Pinion Clearance:


50.0 +2.5 - 0.5 mm (1.97 +.10 - .02 in).
To reduce wear to the pinion and circle teeth,
clean the circle and pinion of dirt and abrasive
material. Apply clean grease to the pinion and
circle teeth as required. 4. Measure the distance between each

distance should be between 0.76 and

Air Conditioner - Cleaning


Elements
Fresh Air Filters

1. Lower the moldboard to the ground.

WARNING
Explosions of air-inflated earthmoving tires
have resulted from heat induced gas
combustion inside the tires. The heat can be
generated by welding or heating rim
components, external fire, or excesive use of
brakes.
Lubricate 1 fitting. A tire explosion is much more violent than a
blowout. The explosion can propel the tire,
and final drive components as far as 460 m
(15) King Pin Bearings (1500 feet) or more from the machine. Both
the force of the explosion and the flying
debris can cause personal injury or death,
and property damage.

Although the risk of an explosion is very low,


the hazard is very great, particularly with
large tires.

All personnel should be made aware of this


danger and the actions to take to minimize
the risk.

Lubricate 4 fittings, 2 on each side.

(16) Cylinder Pivot Bearing

(48) Tandem Drive Housings

WARNING
Hot oil and components can cause personal
injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to
contact skin.

1. Remove the two drain plugs (one in


each compartment.)
2. Drain the oil.

3. Remove both dipsticks (one in each


compartment). Remove and wash
breathers in clean solvent.
4. Clean vent hole in breather.
5. Clean and install drain plugs. Install
breathers.
6. Fill compartment through dipstick
opening. (See "Refill Capacities.")
7. Install dipsticks finger tight, and
measure oil level. Maintain oil level
between ADD and FULL marks on
dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
8. Start engine and operate vehicle for a
few minutes. Inspect for leaks.
9. Stop engine and measure oil level. Add
oil if necessary.
