KNS Admissions

Overview:

Thank you for your interest in the Kaplan Nursery School. Our application for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.

Kaplan Nursery School is an engaging and vibrant community, and as such, for the upcoming admissions season we will provide multiple opportunities for engagement: the option of an in-person or virtual tour (one required), virtual parent/ teacher panel (required), a one-to-one visit with a member of the admissions staff (required).  The one-on-one visit provides an opportunity for a member of the KNS admissions team to learn about your child from you. We do not meet children during the admissions process, instead we look to learn about them through discussions with their parents/ guardians. We want this conversation to be a relaxed dialogue where we can answer specific questions you have regarding our program.

Children must turn two by October 31, 2025 in order to be eligible for admission to the Nursery School. An adult must be in the building until a child turns 2 years old.

For younger children who miss the cut-off for enrollment, we offer the Bridge Program & Toddler Program through the Sutton Place Family Center. You do not need to apply to these programs; they are registration-based and are first-come, first-serve.

Kaplan Nursery School is a member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). We follow all ISAAGNY guidelines and dates throughout the admissions process; this includes the opportunity to participate in an Early Notification Program. We offer this option to families affiliated with Sutton Place Synagogue & siblings of KNS students.

Please note that upon enrollment in Kaplan Nursery School membership at Sutton Place Synagogue is required for all families, regardless of religious affiliation.
