Military Families
SWISD welcomes our military families! Our district recognizes the unique strengths and challenges of our military-connected families, and we aim to provide a smooth transition for students and provide support and resources to families throughout the stay in SWISD. Thank you for choosing our district!
We support military-connected children and families by:
-
- Introducing a campus "buddy" through the Student 2 Student program, that helps introduce and supports the military-connected child in school.
- Providing news and updates for events and activities featuring military students, families, and veterans.
- Designating resources for students and military families.
- Hosting Month of the Military Child events and celebrating our Military families through a series of school-wide and district-wide events.
- Providing priority status in the school’s enrollment process for children of active-duty families.
