About Our Research

Temple Health, in partnership with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, is one of the nation’s most active centers of medical research. Every day, Temple physicians and scientists are advancing the fight against disease, pushing the boundaries of medical science and working to alter the course of serious illness.

These advances are being made both through clinical trials that are testing the latest medications and medical devices and basic science research that is unraveling the molecular mysteries of disease. The goal in every case is the same: to improve the health of people in the Philadelphia region and around the world.

Temple researchers have made groundbreaking advances across the scientific spectrum, including in the areas of cancer biology, cardiovascular and thrombosis research, cell and developmental biology, HIV research, immunology and autoimmunity, neuroscience, pharmacology, pulmonary research and substance use disorder research.

Temple’s role as a national research leader means its patients have access to novel treatment options not found at most hospitals.
