Dr. LJ Punch

BRIC Director & Trauma Surgeon

Dr. Punch loves to heal. Educated in medicine at the University of Connecticut and trained in surgery at the University of Maryland and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, he worked as a trauma surgeon at Barnes Jewish Hospital while on faculty at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Punch founded The BRIC in 2020 through years of community engagement and collaboration, in order to bridge the gaps in care for patients and their families in recovery from bullet injury.

Indigo is a medical assistant and healing justice advocate. They graduated with a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and worked in urgent care before bringing their passion for trauma-informed, holistic, and community-based healing to the BRIC.

Indigo is your go-to person for discussing nutrition, herbal remedies, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (for managing post-traumatic stress). Indigo is a firm believer that healing happens in community and is dedicated to supporting survivors through every step of their healing journey.
