Preserve
Fertility

Having cancer isn’t a choice.
Having kids still should be.

Our mission is to ensure every young woman newly diagnosed with cancer has the option to preserve fertility through direct financial support, educational programs, and advocacy efforts.

We refuse to let the emotional, physical, and financial cost of a cancer diagnosis stand between young women and a full life after beating this disease.

OUR STORY

@CHICKMISSION

Shining a light on our mission — increasing access to oncofertility care — one wristband at a time. 🥰✨

Over the weekend, some bada$$ competitors at the New Smyrna Beach Pickleball Club proudly modeled their new gear! ✨ Shoutout to our team’s Mary Lynn for capturing the sweet moment — and for spreading The Chick Mission’s fierceness. 🐥💪

Floridians, look forward to more activations and advocacy ahead!! Good things are coming your way. 🙌🍊🐊

Preserving fertility can come with a laundry list of esoteric terms, medications and more. We’re here to help break this down — and we’re proud to partner with established clinics across the country, whose experts are here to help, too. 💛🩺

While it can oftentimes seem like a lot of - because it certainly IS - know that you’re not alone. We’re here, cheering you on and helping you stay informed! 👏✨🙌✨

📣 Calling all YA survivors! One of our incredible Peeps members is asking for your help: participation in a survey that can provide better insights for counseling cancer patients on family-building options. Head to the link in bio for the survey — and please pass it along 🥰
___
Alexa, currently a medical student at @alpertmedicalschool, shares:

“The literature on counseling and use of surrogacy among cancer patients is virtually nonexistent, despite it being a viable option for parenthood in those facing cancer-induced fertility challenges. From our phase I survey validation interviews with 17 cancer survivors, it became readily apparent that the counseling patients receive is not enough, and themes of identity, self-sufficiency, and regret revealed just how essential this work is.

To better understand women’s knowledge and experiences regarding surrogacy we created a one-time, online, anonymous survey distributed to AYA women cancer survivors nationwide. With this survey, we intend to capture the experience of navigating challenging fertility options amid a cancer diagnosis – with a focus on surrogacy counseling.”

HOPE is a four-letter word that means everything to those on a fertility journey. Directly outside of our offices at @ccrmfertility the “HOPE” art installation stands as a powerful symbol. Our patients come to us at various stages of their #reproductive journey, often facing challenging decisions that they navigate with courage, determination and most importantly with #HOPE.

They trust that, with my partnership and medical support, they will be able to build a family when, how and with whom they choose.

As a fertility doctor, I have dedicated my life to protecting and promoting the reproductive rights of women, and I HOPE that I can continue to give individuals and couples that opportunity.

As a mom, I HOPE that my daughters will not “grow up in a world where they have fewer rights than my mother had.” I will DO SOMETHING to ensure that they grow up with the freedom to choose what to do with their bodies.

Let’s all stand together to protect and fight for women’s rights.

At the core of The Chick Mission is our HOPE GRANT PROGRAM: financial assistance in covering the cost of fertility treatment, where insurance falls short. This exchange is about more than the dollars saved — it’s about a beacon of hope for the future: an even brighter, bolder life post-cancer, which may or may not involve building a family 💛

I’m thrilled to take on my first marathon in NYC this November, and I’m running with all my heart for a cause close to it: The Chick Mission. I’m a proud Executive Board Member of this remarkable organization dedicated to supporting women whose fertility is impacted by cancer treatments. They provide financial assistance, fertility preservation education, and emotional support to ensure these women have the chance to become mothers.

As I lace up my running shoes and hit the pavement, your donations will fuel not only my journey but also the vital programs of The Chick Mission. Every dollar raised will empower women to pursue fertility preservation options and access the care they deserve.

Please donate today and be a part of this meaningful cause. Together, let’s make a lasting impact on the lives of women in need. Your generosity will inspire me every step of the way!

With Love,
Jamie

There’s more than meets the eye 👀 At The Chick Mission, we’re proud to provide support — be it HOPE, financially, a community of like-minded chicks — but we get that there’s way more beyond what’s seen; so much is not highlighted or talked about when it comes to oncofertility care as a current patient, while in remission or if you’re a supporter of someone going through this.

We SEE you and are here for you. 💛 This is one mighty flock, and we won’t be stopping until every state provides access to oncofertility care. 💪

It’s hard to believe that’s it been a little over a week, but we could not be more thrilled! 🙌🏼 Last Wednesday marked the signing of Corinne’s Law, which will ensure that no Oklahoman who has just received a cancer diagnosis will have to choose between lifesaving treatment and their ability to one day have a family.

Named in honor of Dr. Corinne Dinges, an Oklahoma native who made it her mission to ensure that recently diagnosed patients knew their options for fertility preservation prior to beginning treatment.

Corinne tragically passed away in August 2021 from Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a form of leukemia. Shortly after her death, her dear friend Erin Fitzpatrick teamed up with Carly to take up the cause in Corinne’s honor, with the support and encouragement of The Chick Mission and countless other Oklahomans 💛

Thank you to everyone that helped us get here!!! Let’s keep it up; 17 states down, 33 more to go. 💪

We know that’s right 😎

YOU know your body best — and it’s imperative that you push for answers in medical spaces. Yes, it can be tiring, but know that you are not alone. 💛 We’re here. Your friends are here. Your co-worker and cousins, too. You’re stronger than you know!!! 💪

If you’re hit with a cancer diagnosis, there are a multitude of decisions that have to be made — and fast.

We’re hoping to provide you with as much support as we can to help you make informed choices, amidst this chaotic, overwhelming period.

One of the biggest things you can do is ask questions — and stay curious. And surround yourself with a community that will lift you up and encourage you to ask these questions when it’s challenging to fathom them.

Know that we’re always here as a resource — our DMs and inbox (via The Chirp, linked in bio!) is open 💛

Being thrown into the fertility space — days (or perhaps hours!) after learning you have the dreaded C-word — comes with a learning curve… to say the least. Not only are you oozing with emotions and tasked with countless decisions to make (or perhaps you’re purely numb to it all) but you’re also thrown into earning a new language, chocked full of acronyms and scientific jargon.

Starting with the basics — and at the core of our mission — is oocyte cryopreservation, aka egg freezing.🥚🧊

Our Hope Grant program provides young women with the funds to cover this pricey procedure. Thank you to our partnering clinics who continue to make our mission possible — and to our growing flock for helping to fund this hope. 💖🐥✨

It’s a beautiful thing when you can witness the “right thing” for the future of cancer survivors come to fruition.

Cancer knows no political party, race, gender, age, religion, socioeconomic level or sexual orientation. It knows no state boundary…it is ravenous and steals so much from so many.

Today we witnessed Governor Stitt sign this bill into law in honor of a young Oklahoman who always dreamed of being a mom. Unfortunately cancer stole that opportunity from her, but her legacy lives on in Corinne’s Law.
